Six 7" singles by The Jam. Four in picture sleeves. All in very good condition.
he Jam were an English rock band formed in 1972 in Woking, Surrey. They released 18 consecutive top 40 singles in the United Kingdom, from their debut in 1977 to their break-up in December 1982, including four number one hits. As of 2007, "That's Entertainment" and "Just Who Is the 5 O'Clock Hero?" remain the best-selling import singles of all time in the UK. They released one live album and six studio albums, the last of which, The Gift, reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. When the group disbanded in 1982, their first 15 singles were re-released and all placed within the top 100.

The following are included.....
1. "The Modern World" is a single released by the British group the Jam on 28 October 1977. It was later included on the band's second album, This Is the Modern World.
The single's A-side was backed by the tracks "Sweet Soul Music", and "Back in My Arms Again", recorded live at London's 100 Club on 11 September 1977. The song reached No. 36 in the UK Singles Chart, although the single version had slightly changed lyrics; replacing the words "I don't give two fucks about your review" with "I don't give a damn about your review".
2. "David Watts" is a song written by Ray Davies that originally appeared on the Kinks' 1967 album Something Else by the Kinks. The song was later covered by the Jam, who released it on 11 August 1978 as a single, then included it on their third studio album, All Mod Cons (with different mixes used for the single and album versions). This version, which reached No. 25 in the UK Singles Chart, featured bassist Bruce Foxton on lead vocals rather than Paul Weller, as it was not in the right key for the Jam frontman. The track was released as a double A-side along with "'A' Bomb in Wardour Street", of which a distinct, slightly shorter version was used for the single release and which would also appear later that year on All Mod Cons.
3. "The Eton Rifles" is a song recorded by the Jam, written by Paul Weller. It was the only song to be released as a single from the album Setting Sons. Released on 26 October 1979, it became the band's first top-ten hit on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at No. 3.
The song was recorded at Townhouse Studios, and produced by Vic Coppersmith-Heaven and the Jam. The single's B-side is "See-Saw".
4. "Start!" is the eleventh UK single release by the band The Jam and their second number-one, following "Going Underground"/"Dreams of Children". Upon its release on 15 August 1980, it debuted at number three, and two weeks later reached number one for one week. Written by Paul Weller and produced by Vic Coppersmith-Heaven and The Jam, "Start!" was the lead single from the band's fifth album Sound Affects. The single's B-side is "Liza Radley".
5. "Funeral Pyre" is The Jam's thirteenth single released on 29 May 1981. Backed by the B-side "Disguises", a cover of a Who track, it reached No. 4 in the UK singles chart.
"Funeral Pyre" is the only single co-written by the band, and only the second song which has writing credits for all three members, the other being "Music for the Last Couple" which featured on the Sound Affects album.
6. "Just Who is the 5 O'Clock Hero?" is a song and single released by The Jam on 3 July 1982. It features on their sixth studio album The Gift. It made number eight in the UK Singles Chart in July 1982. The single came with two B-sides – a version of "War" and an original Weller song, "The Great Depression".
