READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles LP A Hard Day’s Night Japan Apple RED VINYL, Late 1960’s Pressing, Nice Copy!

**This copy features the British lineup of selections, so there isn’t any instrumental film music!

No lyric sheet, no OBI, sorry.

Japan and Germany pressed their vinyl in the late 1960’s for optimum sound quality and vinyl durability.  Whereas the rest of the world factory-packaged their vinyl hot off the presses, resulting in either warpages or clean-looking vinyl that sounded scratchy upon first play, Japan and Germany pressed their albums in high-quality vinyl, and then allowed them to cool before packaging.  This process not only allowed the grooves to properly set for deep sound reproduction, but it also produced very forgiving vinyl where scratches are concerned.

These red vinyl issues out of Japan from the late 1960’s are famous for having feelable scratches that play back Excellent.

This copy has only a scant few light lines and maybe a scuff or two!

Vinyl--- VG+/EX.  Both sides retain 95% original gloss, but they do have hairlines and a scuff or two.  In order for them to show themselves on camera, I sharpened the images and then brightened them.  But they look much better in person.

Plates--- YEX-126-21/YEX-127-3.  Each side has the machine-stamped squiggle inside the circle, which was the insignia for Japan’s pressing plants of the late 60’s to mid-70’s.

Cover--- VG.  Front cover has moderate dirtwear.  The shadow effect around the guys is printed on the cover, so all copies have that effect.  Back cover has tape and a lifted flap.  NO SPLIT SEAMS, THOUGH.

Labels--- VG+/VG+.  Bright colors, slight foxing to each label.  Both sides have a lot of short, faint spindle marks, but the labels still present very well.

Black Apple Inner Sleeve--- EX.  Remarkable condition for one of these sleeves.  They tend to fray at the die-cut hole, and their seams get cottony, and then split.  Not this one.  Sleeve is flat, just a few wrinkles.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A rice paper sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original black Apple inner sleeve en route.

This rare copy will make a great Christmas present for your Beatles collector.  If you want to double the impact, get the other red vinyl album for sale this week as well, and let them open both on Christmas morning!

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
