PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER).  OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.

MEGA RARE original non-Rainbo misprinted first pressing on Sympathy For The Records Industry from 2000 with catalog number SFTRI 609 on the spine, SFTRI 572 on the label and original semi-rigid glossy full color insert sheet with complete lyrics!!!  LP is VG++ with a few light scuffs.  Cover is a beautiful VG++/NM-.  What makes this particular copy off-the-charts rare is the fact that it has been SIGNED by BOTH Jack and Meg on the rear cover in beautifully legible bold black marker!!!  In the mid-2000s I was doing a Thursday night show at Loyola University's radio station 88.7 WLUW here in Chicago.  As a way to raise funds for the station they used to host an annual record fair on a Saturday and Sunday at Pulaski Park on the city's near north side and all the radio station staff was required to work there.  On one of my breaks I decided to check out what the some of the vendors were offering.  I collected the Stripes voraciously in the 2000s and spotted a Party Of Special Things To Do 45 that the Stripes released via the Sub Pop Singles Club in 2000 on red & white split color vinyl.  The woman selling it had a treasure trove of rare Stripes 45s including a white Lafayette Blues 45 and when I asked her how she acquired them all she showed me a photo of her and Meg sitting on a couch in what looked like someone's living room.  She said she was friends with Meg but didn't know Jack that well.  She showed me the signed LP and after what seemed like 30 minutes of haggling we agreed on a price and I was on my way with the Sub Pop 45, this LP and empty pockets.  Consider Jack's place in the annals of music - on par with The Edge and Jimmy Page.  Now consider what a signed Zep II or October would be valued at and you have some idea as to what the future holds for a rarity of this magnitude, particularly as Jack continues to blaze a unique trail and Meg has all but disappeared.  An incredible piece of early White Stripes history.  Anyone that follows my auctions knows I own some Stripes rarities to die for but this is undoubtedly one of the absolute crown jewels in my collection.  A massive current and guaranteed future collectable.  Sleep and be sorry.
