Cosey Coleman
There'll Come A Time
b/w
Sad Joker
Rim 4104
1962
Written and produced by Tim Whitsett on his obscure hard to find Jackson, Mississippi label usually featuring his IMPERIAL SHOW BAND.
Who was Cosey/Cozy Coleman??
"A little tap dancer in the show overheard him asking the group to sign a recording contract and said he would like to make a record. His name was Warren Cole, but his stage name was "Cozy Cole" and he was from St. Louis.
Tim said great because he wanted a rhythm and blues artist on his label. He signed him right there on the spot. To get him into the recording studio, Tim had to go down to the Royal American Show Train at the fairgrounds and pick him up. Tim took Cozy to Bob McRee's Mill Street studio to record the master tape. Tim put the record out; Cozy went off with the fair and Tim never saw him again. Tim had to change the name on the record label to Cozy Coleman, because there was another artist out using the Cozy Cole name, a drummer who had a big hit called 'Topsy'." from Classic Magnolia Rock by Johnny W. Sumrall
Hard to find in any condition.
Still has some shine with numerous marks, scrapes and hairlines all of the superficial type with no feel-able scratches. Please listen carefully and be satisfied before bidding on this scarce and hard to find record.
Labels are intact with some wear, discoloration, writing and a sticker; take a look.
Plays and sounds good.
Look at the pictures and listen to the raw full length sound files as a DOWNLOAD for best quality.
