MINT = Record will be new & factory sealed, I do not give mint ratings for opened L.P.s The cover will be sealed in plastic with no visible ring wear (nothing re-sealed!)

NEAR MINT = like mint , only record has been opened. Record has been played, but usually not more than once or twice. Cover will look like new.

EXCELLENT = Record has been played , but carefully. May contain light surface scuff, and/or slight label wear. No deep scratches or skips, but perhaps a slight bit of surface noise , mainly between tracks. The cover may have very slight ring wear, or minor (less than 1") seam split.

VERY GOOD = A very good record should play great with no deep scratches or skips. may contain minor scratches or scuffs, or may have some noise between tracks, but nothing major. Perhaps some label wear around spindle hole, or cover has some ring wear or seam split, maybe a sticker or name on cover, but still a very nice copy that can be played & enjoyed without any problems.

GOOD = Good does NOT mean bad, or unplayable, just an L.P. that has had more use, and more wear to cover (name/sticker/seam split or ring wear, or perhaps someone repaired cover with tape) Record may have some noticeable scratches, but NO deep scratches or skips, just general wear.

FAIR = A fair record is on a bit of shaky ground, as there will be some scratches & noise, cover will have some wear, overall this should be OK , but something to hold you over until you find that preferred copy. or , a rare L.P. that you want to own, but not pay a fortune for. If there are skips or other defects they will be pointed out. A fair record should NOT be a piece of junk, it is worn , but still playable.

POOR = I doubt you will see any of these on this site, the exception would be a really remarkable album with collector value. maybe the record is fine, but the cover is shot, or the other way around. This is where you'll find skips on L.P.s , or warps etc. Exercise caution with a poor record, as there will be some defect of some kind, These will be pointed out.
