On auction is an ORIGINAL 1983 DIRECT TO DISC RECORDING of  JAMES NEWTON HOWARD QUINTET / Contemporary Rock Instrumentals    on SHEFFIELD LAB 23 and the RECORD IS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION.   This is a Special C.E.S. Preview Edition.  Produced & Engineered by Bill Schnee.
This record came from the estate of a former Director of Production Management for CBS Records who owned every record released during the years 1970 thru 1982.  Steve kept his collection in near mint to mint condition...all housed in boxes on metal rafters in a closet where none of the boxes were stacked.  Each box was sealed and all the records are in MINT shape.  Most were promotional copies direct from the factory and some hadn't been shrink wrapped yet.
COVER = NEAR MINT (EX) with no seam splits,  no ring wear,   light edge and corner wear,  no writing,  no promo cuts or holes, no creased corners...just slight signs of age.  Includes rice paper plastic sleeve and inside cardboard support board.
VINYL = NEAR MINT (NM) with no major signs paper scuff marks or scratches, plenty of gloss and shine, very well taken care of.  Clean labels free of writing and major spindle wear.
PLAY GRADED =  NEAR MINT (NM) with clean bold sounds expected from a Direct To Disc recording,  no pops or jumps, very low background floor only in-between tracks...a sold listen.
