CHARANJIT SINGH synthesizing ten ragas to a disco beat ORIGINAL INDIAN PRESS HMV
----- READ BEFORE BIDDING! ! ----
Top rare early 80s Indian album by many thought to be a hoax when we reissued this on the Bombay Connection label. Often reviewed as proto techno or proto acid-house (predating similar sounding records with a few years), this was an attempt to translate classic ragas to modern instruments. Too avant garde for its time, the LP was hardly distributed, quickly forgotten and originals are near-impossible to find. Finally we found a spare, only the 2nd copy in 15 years, in quite decent condition!
artist: CHARANJIT SINGH
title: synthesizing - ten ragas to a disco beat /
label: his master's voice ECSD. 2912
country: India
year: 1983
format: LP
record: borderline VG / VG+ clean vinyl no marks; would be EX except that the vinyl looks partly a bit clouded which cause some surface noise here & there.
sleeve: VG left & lower seam splits
