Original 1967/1968 U.S. stereo press of LP on gold WB label
BONNIWELL MUSIC MACHINE self titled
CONDITION:
cover: G
shelf wear/soiling ~ bump/crease to lower right & upper left corners
wear/fray/scrapes to edges & corners~ seam split to top edge at opening/center/spine
front has small faint initals ~ back has radio station call letters x 2 ~ WBRU ( this is Providence, Rhode Island)
vinyl: VG/VG+
several lite marks/smudges & a few lite hairlines/ scratches/needlemarks(including 3 lite ones across most of A side)
~ all superficial EXCEPT for 1 very small mark on one of the S2 tracks is a bit deeper ( makes 3 or 4 lite clicks)~ remainder
plays with numerous odd occasional very lite clicks & some occasional lite low level surface noise/soft
surface crackle in quite a few spots ~ all low level ~ does not really compete, but, litely noticeable in quite a few spots
Apparently some of the tracks on this were by the original "Talk Talk" band line-up & some by
session back up musicians ~ here's my understanding of the line-ups ~ pls see review for track designation:

The Music Machine were renamed the Bonniwell Music Machine when they went to Warner Bros., as the original lineup disbanded at some point, leaving only chief singer and songwriter Sean Bonniwell. Much of the material on Warner, however, was recorded by the original group, and this album was pasted together from some singles (some of which had appeared on Original Sound in 1967) and other tracks, both by the original incarnation and a second outfit that was pretty much a Sean Bonniwell solo vehicle. Accordingly, the tone of the album is pretty uneven, but much of the material is excellent. In fact, some of the songs rate among their best; a few are also found on the Rhino anthology, but other first-rate tunes ("Bottom of the Soul," "Talk Me Down," "The Trap") are not. Some of the cuts (presumably those recorded after the first lineup broke up) find Bonniwell branching out from psych-punk into a poppier and more eclectic direction, sometimes with very good results, sometimes not.
