Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, formed in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1984. They released a total of three albums before disbanding in 1996. The band was known for their rock instrumentals, that were often defined as "surf rock," a label the band rejected. However, the band did find success in the surf-rock revival of the late '80s and early '90s. Perhaps their best known song is, "Having an Average Weekend," made famous due to its use as the theme to the hit sketch comedy TV show, The Kids in the Hall. Yep Roc Records is proud to be re-releasing all three original studio albums on vinyl along with a bonus LP of B-sides, rarities and unreleased material in one box-set called, I Guess We Were A Fucking Surf Band After All for Record Store Day 2016.
