Very high quality pressing of Lucille Bogan's infamous 1935 number "Shave 'Em Dry." Deemed too raunchy to be released by a regular label, this X-rated version of Shave 'Em Dry only surfaces like this one: with an anonymous white label (sold under the counter or via mail order). Someone has erroneously attributed this recording to Pearl Bailey ("Pearl's Delight" written in ballpoint on the Shave Em Dry side). The B side is a comedy routine called "The Apartment" full of innuendo.
This recording sounds crisp and bright. The shellac is very shiny. Both sides are E-
