ABOUT ME AND MY GRADING

Due to down-sizing the time has come to sell on records that have been given to me from various family members. I'm not an expert and am new to selling vinyl - I understand I'll make mistakes as grading seems to be quite a subjective procedure! As I have so many records (well over a thousand!) I will have to visually grade each record using the UK Record Collector Grading System. I am generally listing individual records as well as bundles of the same artist, so make sure you check my other items to take a look at an evolving collection ! If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason please contact me before leaving negative feedback! I will happily refund any purchase. The grading system  is quite tricky to use, so please make sure you read them before buying the record!

Record Collectors Grading system

Mint (M)

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Un-played should be Mint.

Excellent (EX)

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG)

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G)

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F)

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P)

The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

Bad (B)

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

SHIPPING COSTS

I will post in mailers with stiffeners.  My postage costs will only reflect what it costs me to buy the materials and the cost of the stamp. I don't aim to make extra money from P&P. I will post second class at £2.85 and add 65p for the mailer, cardboard stiffeners  and the plastic outer sleeve all records will come in. I firmly believe it's crucial for the record to be packed well so I prioritise this over speed of delivery! All records will cost £3.50 P&P. The mailers I use only hold a maximum of 4 albums, so if you do win multiple albums I will put a cheque in with the delivery to reimburse your postage costs.  Initially I will only post within the U.K. If you wish to have records posted over-seas please e-mail me and I'll consider it depending on location. I have large collections of Jazz, Dance music and lots of classic rock so if you would like a bulk collection it might be possible!

HAPPY BIDDING!
