10" picture disc

The Small Faces’ most famous song was actually recorded during the Summer Of Love at the legendary Olympic Studios in London during July 1967 and released on Andrew Loog Oldham’s independent Immediate record label in August. Produced by Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane, the song was engineered by Glyn Johns with George Chkiantz and featured the latter’s revolutionary phasing effect which was heard for the first time anywhere on the single. A top 3 hit in the UK and released worldwide, it was also the Small Faces’ only top 20 hit in the USA.

Supervised by surviving Small Faces member Kenney Jones, the limited edition picture disc features the re-mastered original mono mix plus the 1967 stereo remix by Eddie Kramer with a longer end-fade and additional vocals by Steve. The new single features outtakes from Gered Mankowitz’s original photo session to promote ‘Itchycoo Park’ while the colour insert reproduces the Olympic Studios master tape box.
