Very presentable early copy of Camel's superb debut album from 1973. This is a rare black label MCA variant which was only available for a few months in 1973 before the design changed again to the familiar 'rainbow' design. The black label is actually rarer than the black/blue hexagon design and is not even listed in this year's RRPG! Matrices are 2L/1L.
Gatefold sleeve VG+ In generally very good order, some light wear and creasing. There is a record shop label on the back cover.
Labels Ex/Ex+ Very clean. Light spindle traces on the Side 1 label, moderate spindlewear on the Side 2 label.
Inner VG+ Original Decca company polylined bag. Light handling wear and creasing.
Record Visually Ex condition, lovely shine to the vinyl. No marks seen in normal light, some light sleeve-removal hairlines seen under a strong light. Plays at least VG+ throughout, clear and powerful sound with none of the sibilance found on the 'hexagon' label copies. There is a fair amount of crackle at times and the record may benefit from a deep clean. Still a great listen after 45 years!
