Excellent quality 1966 UK 1st issue black & yellow 14-track Parlophone label mono LP. Label and sleeve both list DR. ROBERT as opposed to later pressings which credit 'Doctor Robert'. Complete with Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated flipback picture sleeve.
This is the earlist 1st issue mono first pressing, with the rare alternate version of tomorrow never knows.
The Beatles 1966 UK 1st pressing of the 'Revolver' album. Released on the 5th August 1966, this is the highly sought after *XEX 606-1* variation which had a very, very brief pressing run before production was halted on the first day and quickly withdrawn. The XEX 606-1 matrix variation is the rarest produced version of what is widely regarded as The Beatles most creative and finest work. It contains a unique slightly extended version with more tape loops, and slightly longer Honky Tonk Piano at the end, of this simply magnificent track 'Tomorrow Never Knows' which has never been issued on any subsequent release of 'Revolver'.
Condition
Vinyl
Track 4, side two is spelt DR. Robert on sleeve and DR. Robert on the label
The black and yellow Parlophone labels are in highly respectable condition without excessive wear or damage around the spindle hole, and there is just a little spindle wear to indicate light play. The text is bright and clearly legible. The vinyl retains its bright gloss sheen with only a very few light sleeve removal lines and hairlines but otherwise no cosmetic marks to the vinyl itself and remains an excellent example. It plays through with clear dynamic audio, with only the lightest background crackle between tracks and in the quietest sections. Plays through with clear dynamic audio and with no skips or jumps. EX
Sleeve
The Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated flip-back picture sleeve benefits from clean, crisp undamaged laminate, secure flip-backs and undamaged edges. The spine is solid and the text clear and readable, with only a few light creases and minor ageing to the spine. EX
Overall, a lovely condition LP in EX condition!
