Vinyl has several scuffs and lines, visually it looks VG- but plays better. It's certainly very listenable with no sticks or jumps. Some minor crackling and the odd click but nothing major. Tracks vary VG to VG+. The dynamic sound is typical of a 60s production and Sam's sweet, soulful voice shines out throughout the record.
Sam's backing musicians are pianist Ray Johnson, organist Billy Preston ( then only 16 ), guitarist Barney Kessell, drummers Hal Blaine and Ed Hall, bassist Cliff Hils and Cliff White, and René Hall on rhythm guitar Night Beat was recorded in three days during late night sessions.
VG++ Sleeve is laminated with minor raising and a very tiny tear on back open side - see photos. Inner is the original poly-lined company sleeve. Spine is Ex.
