"A MODERN JAZZ SYMPOSIUM of MUSIC and POETRY with CHARLIE MINGUS" Vinyl LP BETHLEHEM BCP-6026 (USA 1957)
RARE FIRST MONO PRESSING
Not its first owner (I wasn't born when this was pressed, and got into Mingus much later anyway) but I've looked after it carefully, in a smoke-free home. I've probably played it only a few times.
The disc is in overall better than good condition but with spindle marks on labels and some surface scratches which shouldn't affect play. However, there is a small CHIP at the end of Side 1 which will produce clicks. The record is made of a more brittle material than later vinyl. The sleeve is overall better than good but has age related wear: taped seams at top and bottom and yellowing on the rear (not bad given its 60+ years!) The inner edges have some paper lifted where a poly outer which was taped in has been carefully removed (a habit of mine, for most of my collection; the plus side is that the external condition of the sleeve has been better preserved, given its age).
I'll post in a sturdy mailer, with a Mobile Fidelity Original Master anti-static inner and a new "Blake" outer poly sleeve with sealable flap.
Check out my listings for other collectable jazz LPs including many more by Charles Mingus (mostly MONO) and many by GIL EVANS.
P&P is at cost (UK only). I'll combine for multiple purchases, in which case please request an Invoice before payment.
