The 11th and 12th editions of Josh Homme and Queens of the Stone Age's beloved Desert Sessions series--which has been on hiatus since the early '00s--is here on desert sun vinyl.
From 1997-2003, Josh Homme convened jam sessions called the Desert Sessions, that eventually inspired Queens of the Stone Age songs and gained a cult following. Homme has had the project on ice since 2003, but this past summer, brought a crew of folks-- ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Primus' Les Claypool, Jack White drummer Carla Azar, Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa, the Scissor Sisters’ frontman Jake Shears and more--for eight songs that have become the 11th and 12th releases in the Desert Sessions ouevre.
