AMON DUUL "PSYCHEDELIC UNDERGROUND" (GERMAN METRONOME) 1969 I'LL HAVE WHAT THEY ARE HAVING!
Not Sure how you can get where they are but.....adventure mat be forthcoming! Seems LIKE A Carlos Casteneda novel gone awry! Tribal drums, disembodied wails, and droning strings meet trippy percussional and orchestral interludes with random sound effects in this fascinating document. Track three is quite possibly the origin of the term "krautrock", and that alone should make this album of interest to those with a curiosity for German psychedelic music. But then there is a primal power to this album that is quite endearing. Such a profuse chaotic force that is Psychedelic Underground that makes me want to strip naked, and dance around a lamp post chanting ancient rituals to the king and queen of high heavens.Or better yet around a fire eating paint chips and singing Monster Magnet "Space Lord"...
The point is, for some reason this record is influential, and the question is; why must anything that is rootsy, primal and which purposely makes a mockery of structure, and devoid of any musical caliber be celebrated and held aloft as some proud beacon of enlightenment? The answer is Amon Duul and the Psychedelic Underground.. You must hear this record even if it kills you and it may..DELUXE COPY HERE M-/M-
