CAEDMON TC2005 Double Vinyl LP of Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood. The premier performance recorded in front of an audience at the Poetry Center of the YM-YWHA, Lexington Avenue and 92nd Street, New York on 14th May 1953. Narrated by Dylan Thomas with the original cast of American actors Dion Allen, Allen F. Collins, Roy Poole, Sada Thompson and Nancy Wickwire. It is the only recording ever made with Thomas in the cast, and owes its existence to someone setting-up a little tape recorder and microphone centre-stage just before curtain-up. A planned studio recording was not made following the untimely death of Dylan Thomas shortly thereafter. Actors respond to the audience and the audience reaction grows and becomes part of the performance. 89 minutes 44 seconds. Gatefold cover includes sleeve notes and photography from the performance. Plain inner sleeves. See photos for condition of LPs and sleeve, including name written in pen on rear and small bump to corner of sleeve. Dispatched in LP Mailer with eBay delivery Packlink 2-3 days.
