For sale is a vinyl record by Vladimir Horowitz titled "Scriabin Sonata No. 3 In F-Sharp Minor, Op. 23 and 16 Preludes", originally released in 1956 by RCA Victor Red Seal Records. This is a first pressing with narron/plum colored labels that have a picture of "Nipper", the RCA dog, with dark shading behind him, commonly called a "Shaded Dog" pressing. Inside the dead wax between these labels and the last tracks is etched the matrix numbers 6-S/10-S, followed by a machine stamped upper case "I", indicating that earlier stampers were used to press this record at RCA Records' pressing plant located in Indianapolis, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this album used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine  and immediately put it into a protective inner sleeve.  Doing this protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as Good Plus because of tape on the top, side and bottom seams of the back cover, along with ink writing (also on the back cover) and a small piece of paper missing at the top of thre front cover. The vinyl is visually graded as Excellent because of a small 3/4 inch superficial surface scratch across Band 2 of Side One, but otherwise the surfaces are shiny and bright, without any scuffs, sleeve marks or  spindle marks on the labels. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more Classical albums, as well as records of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately in Near Mint condition. Thank you for viewing my listing.    I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
