The BEATLES - RUBBER SOUL MONO

A lovely condition and a highly presentable copy of this very hard to find and highly sought after 1965 UK very 1st "loud cut" press Beatles classic, on the yellow & black Parlophone label, MONO, PMC 1267

The dead wax matrix numbers are :

Side 1 XEX 579 - 1 with stampers and “2” and “GR” at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock respectively

Side 2 XEX 580 - 1 with stampers "3" and "LA” each inverted) at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock respectively

The “Loud Cut” is the very first pressing of the Beatles’ Rubber Soul album; it was quickly discontinued after a short pressing run as EMI decided that the album had been cut too loud resulting in a noticeably different mix - in certain places the vocals sound raw and aggressive - and EMI hastily ceased production. Needless to say very few copies ‘escaped’ and the rare "loud cut" copy of Rubber Soul is on every serious Beatles collectors "want" list…..

I USE THE UK RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM.

Vinyl Grading System

MINT (M): Record shows no evidence of having been played. Vinyl/sleeve in perfect, brand new condition. No secondhand records can make this grade.

NEAR MINT (NM): Record shows little sign of having been played. Vinyl/sleeve is in superb near perfect condition. My highest grade for secondhand vinyl.

EXCELLENT (EX): Record has been played a few times but has been well looked after. Vinyl has the odd light surface mark but there is no significant lessening of sound quality. Sleeve may have some slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): Record has been played a number of times or has some light surface marks but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. Any surface noise is occassional or light. Sleeve will have some normal wear and tear without any major defects.

GOOD (G): While the record still plays OK, the vinyl will have a lot of surface marks/ light scratches and there is noticeable surface noise or some distortion. Sleeve and contents will suffer from folding, scuffing and/ or edge splits, discoloration etc.

FAIR (F): Vinyl will have bad scratches and maybe jump or stick. Records in this condition will be collection-fillers only. The sleeve has major damage.

THESE GRADES WILL SOMETIMES BE SUPPLEMENTED WITH +/- TO PROVIDE MORE ACCURACY
