For sale is a vinyl record by Billy Squier titled "Don't Say No", originally released in 1981 by Capitol Records. According to the liner notes, this album was mastered by George Marino. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any insert(s) or original inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is graded as Excellent because of some wrinkled and creasedcorners. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers Z-6/Z-6, followed by a machine stamped upper case "O" and "Sterling", indicating that this record was mastered at Sterling Sound of New York City, New York before early stampers were used to make this album at Capitol Records' pressing plant, located in Jacksonville, Illinpois. These are hallmarks of state-of-the art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. The cover is graded as VG+ because of some faint ring wear, corner blunts, shelf rubs and stress cracks along the spine and the other edges. The spine has color loss at the corners from these blunts and in the middle is a small tear with some paper loss. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint Minus because of superficial sleeve marks and some spindle marks on the labels. I'm play-grading it as Near Mint, without any surface noise, pops, skips or lock-ups. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and still has a lot of life yet. This album is still one of the best copies of this record that I have ever heard and you would be hard pressed to find a Jacksonville pressing of this first edition. This would make a great addition to a anyone's collection. I have more Rock and Roll albums, as well as records of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
