For sale is Emerson Lake & Palmer's self titled 1st album, originally released in 1970 by Island Records of London, U.K. with all pink labels. This is a second pressing with pink rims around the outside of the label. In the dead wax between the labels and the last track are etched the matrix numbers A-2U/B-1U, indicating that this was an early pressing from the U.K. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI machine and immediately put it away into a MFSL protective inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the record. The white generic inner sleeve, though printed made in England, might not be the original, but still is graded as Near Mint. The cover is graded as Good because of a dent in the middle of the top seam, corner blunts, shelf rubs, Magic Marker writing on the top right hand corner along with paper loss from a failed sticker removal. The spine has a  color loss at the corners and along the edges from blunts and rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any sleeve marks, surface scratches or scuffs. There is Magic Marker writing on one side of the labels, but no apparent spindle marks. I'm play grading this record between Very Good Plus and Excellent because of occasinal low level ticking and a pop on Side One. There is low levels of surface noise, most evident during the quietest sections of playback, but never coming close to over-powering the music or vocals. It plays all the way through without any lock-ups oe skips. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This is one of the best copies that I have ever heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, especially a rare pink rim version from the U.K.. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have a lot more Rock records as well as albums of all different genres listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look as they are almost  all Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.    I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
