For sale is a vinyl record by ABBA title "The Visitors", originally released in 1981 by Atlantic Records, then reissued by the RCA Music Service under license R-154326, for sale to their mail order Club members. This is indicate by the license numbers on the labels and in the dead wax. In the dead wax between the label and the last track is etched "Cutting Room Sweden" and "R-154326", along with "SP" as a suffix to the label's matrices, indicating that the record was mastered at Cutting Room of Stockholm, Sweden, before it was made at Specialty Records Corporation's pressing plant, located in Olyphant, Pennsylvania. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it away into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is graded as Near Mint. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of corner blunts, shelf rubs, stress cracks along the spine and faint ring wear. The spine has color loss at the corner from these blunts and along the edges from rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any sleeve marks, surface scratches, scuffs, smudges or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this record as Excellent because of occasional low level surface noise and ticking, most evident during the quietest sections of playback and between tracks. It plays all the way through without any skips, pops or lock-ups from start to finish. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. This is still one of the best copies of this album that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find one that sounds like this one. I have a lot more Electronica and Dance records as well as albums of all different genres listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
