Why Am I Selling This?
After 35 years of collecting and 15 years of DJing, I decided that these items should be released back into the wild so they can be enjoyed by others. They have been my friends for years and I want to introduce them to others. They aren't doing anyone any good hidden away in storage. I remember finding those awesome rare treats at a low price and want to help others experience that too.

Although I would love to make back some of what I invested, I am not in this purely for profit. I really do want toget these discs out into the world where they'll be enjoyed by others.

Why are you buying this?
Because you are very smart and attractive and everyone says so. Also because you found a gem you've been looking for, or didn't know existed.

You are NOT buying this to resell, because that goes against everything I am trying to do here. If you win my items only to resell them, you are an opportunist that has completely missed the point and my auctions are not for you.

I am passionate about this enough to block resellers from my future auctions when I find them. My auctions are for lovers of music, not lovers of profit. This is a raw nerve with me.

Why Did I Stop Collecting?
I didn't. I probably won't ever really stop.

What's up with the no returns thing?
Please be sure of your bid. I can't accept returns on media. It's because of the nature of media in the 21st century. Believe it or not, some people will win an auction, rip to mp3 then try to return it, claiming it's defective. This actually does happen and by a strange series of coincidences I caught someone doing it. The returns policy is weighted in the bidders' favor, so it'd be uphill for me to make it right. Ebay tends to favor bidders.

I'm absolutely sure that YOU would never do this, but it's a huge possibility and liability that I have to account for.

Now that said, I wouldn't feel right selling defective product. I'm not trying to dump anything on anyone. I strive to be as honest as possible. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer, and any problems, let me know and I'll do what I can to make it right.

What's up with the condition?
I take good care of my music, but age does occasionally show. I clean the ones that obviously need it, but occasionally miss one.  Some of these were bar records so they have wear.

Cracking and popping can be greatly reduced by cleaning with wood glue. Yes, really! Google it. I've done it for decades now with great results.

A lot of my discs came from a local store here in Portland that buys all discs, regardless of condition. They then sell the imperfect discs at a steep discount. I do the same.  A fair few also came from some of the bars I've worked at in the past, so the cover condition is not very great but the audio is still fine. The packaging and condition may not be mint, but all discs have been verified and guaranteed to play before they're put up for auction. Any marks or blemishes or defects will be stated clearly in the (condition) section above.

I try to be as up-front as possible, with the goal of zero negative surprises. I will list whether I purchased the item new or used as well as its condition. Photos will show flaws, if any.\

What's up with the shipping?
I do not gouge on shipping costs. Ever. That is a promise and a guarantee. Shipping costs go toward packaging and shipping, and do not find their way into my pocket.

I don't think shipping should ever be a profit maker. However, packaging and materials aren't free and I'm not willing to end up paying you to take this off my hands; there's more to shipping than transportation. I'm OK with adding a little handling in (ie 50¢ or 75¢ for a shipping envelope or a quarter for a protective sleeve) but I really -REALLY- dislike auctioneers that sell an album for $5 but charge $30 to ship it to the next state over. If you want $30, just list the thing at $30. Honestly.

I've seen too many auctions where the winning bid for a CD was like $5 but shipping was $29.95 or higher. I find this very dishonest and predatory. My shipping and handling are reasonable costs, not a profit center. I will do everything I can to get it to you as safely and inexpensively as I can. Again, I do NOT pad my shipping to make a profit. Costs are for shipping and material only; I do not pad with hidden costs.

Shipping costs are as listed. I typically ship Media Mail to save the priority mail surcharge. Any difference between what's listed and actual US shipping costs are absorbed by me. IE if I list a disc at $4 to ship and it turns out the packaging is heavier or outsized or whatever and ends up being $5, I pay the missing $1, not you. I won't ever try to get that extra $1. If I screw up, it's on me and not you. That's a promise.

I am happy to combine shipping for multiple items! By default, I will combine orders and ship your items together to save on shipping and packaging. If you want me to send them separately, let me know and I'll be happy to accommodate. I'm here to help. I will get your items to you as quickly and inexpensively as possible. I can safely fit three to four LPs/singles into one standard box with padding. A general rule of thumb is to add $1 (rather than the standard $4) for each additional item in the same box. For example, four discs would be $7 ($4+$1+$1+$1), not $16. Three discs would be $6, two would be $5. The actual cost will be in the invoice sent after winning.
Unless and until I can find a better system, I invoice based on package. For example, if you win three items, you will have a single invoice for three items. If you win eight, you'll get two invoices, for four each. I will always try to fit as many in a single box as I can to save you as much as I can. I will not overstuff to cram them all in a single box, though. I want them to arrive in the same condition they leave.

My auctions are for the domestic US. I do not offer international shipping due to cost prohibitive insurance and international tracking.

I am proud of my 100% positive seller rating. I try to go out of my way to make things smooth and mutually beneficial. If you have any questions, concerns, comments or requests, PLEASE contact me first. I go out of my way to ensure as smooth a transaction as possible. I am very reasonable and friendly, so please do contact me if you feel the need.

Please keep in mind that you are rating the transaction, and me as a seller, NOT the item itself. If there's a problem with the transaction, PLEASE tell me first! If it turns out the item isn't what you expected, or you took a chance and just end up not liking the song, that isn't relevant to the transaction. You're rating me, not the item.

I do not play stupid feedback games. If you pay on time and there aren't any hiccups, your part is done. I'm not going to insist you rate me first so I can rate you. I have experience with more than a few auctioneers that have messaged me to "leave feedback so I can give you feedback!" NO. It does not work that way. Once you're paid up, you're done. Your feedback is not dependent on reciprocal feedback and mine will not be impacted by yours. I rate you when you pay, you rate me when you receive your new friends. Simple.
Please also keep in mind, however that any eBay seller feedback that isn't positive is negative. Neutral reviews hurt me. My goal is to keep my rating at 100% positive and I will do everything I can to do so. Again, if you have ANY questions, concerns, or comments, PLEASE contact me directly first! I typically respond pretty quickly (less than an hour in most cases).

Commenting in feedback does not count as contacting me first. I do not see feedback unless I look for it; I do not get notifications when I get new feedback so there's every chance I'll miss your message if it's just feedback comments.

Prompt payment is certainly appreciated! Late payments screw up my process flow. My auctions end and are packed Thursday nights for Friday posting. Late payments are shipped out the next business day after payment is received. Payments made over the weekend will be processed and packed the following Monday. My local post office has limited hours so interruptions in my workflow cause delays in package delivery.
Repeated late payers risk being blocked without additional warning (consider this a friendly warning). I'm not in this for the money, but your bid is a contract and I take it seriously.

Thanks again for your interest, and for reading my short story!
