A very nice example of the very first pressing on the Vertigo swirl label, with 1Y1 2Y1 matrix codes and in the laminated box style sleeve. This copy includes the coveted original poster!
Vinyl: A superb copy with just a handful of spindle trails hinting at very light previous play. This was borne out by the play test which revealed superb audio throughout - even the quieter tracks such as 'Orchid' and 'Solitude' play through with great clarity and little to no background interference (just a few minor ticks/pops on Orchid which a professional clean may iron out). There are a couple of light surface marks visible but the playing surface is for the most part clean and bright, retaining a pleasing lustre. An Excellent grading fully justified. The audio is regularly Near Mint.
Sleeve: VG+ to Excellent. A very sound copy. Bolstered with a cardboard inner, there is some laminate lift along the spine but aside from this a very sound example with the often torn (or completely removed!) envelope flaps intact and in splendid condition.
Inner: Most copies came with an inverted black Vertigo swirl inner. This copy has the regular white version. Whether it was issued with this (there do seem to be a few around) or it was swapped in later I don't know. However, it is an original swirl inner with correct patent numbers and in Excellent condition.
Poster: The poster has not been hung and is in Excellent condition despite a subtle 4cm closed tear where the left hand top panel folds over. A superb poster - 100% original on thick matt paper and with the reassuring musty aroma you would expect having spent 50+ years sitting in a record sleeve!
