Rare test pressing of The White Stripes first single on Italy Records from 2002 with false start on side A!!!  I purchased this 45 around 2006 from a co-worker here in Chicago who worked at the record store attached to the Cabaret Metro and played in several bands as well.  While I had no reason to doubt its authenticity, I couldn't confirm nor deny it so on a long shot I contacted Italy Records mainman Dave Buick and he graciously returned my email(!)  He explained that just prior to the Stripes first UK tour in 2001 he and Jack were under the gun to get these manufactured.  When they got the test pressing back from the plant they dropped the needle randomly on both sides to check the sound, but didn't check the introduction to either side.  As a result, they didn't realize that Jim Diamond had mistakenly sent them the take with a false start on side A (Let's Shake Hands) and that's how the 45s were pressed!  As a lifelong Stripes fan (and collector) I couldn't help but get what can only be described as that fanboy feeling from an exchange with one of the scene's prime movers.  Dave if you're reading this you certainly made my day.  Vinyl is a beautiful VG++ with a few barely visible paper scuffs.  Labels have their respective matrix numbers written in pen on each side.   An incredible piece of early White Stripes history so don't miss your chance.
