Title: ID.Entity Deluxe Edition CD MEDIABOOK Plant:  On January 20, 2023, Riverside's eighth album titled "ID.Entity" will have its premiere. The band returns to the areas known from the first decade of the group's work, but despite some stylistic references to previous albums, the latest album is definitely the beginning of a new musical path for Riverside.
The band completely rebuilt after the loss of a tragically deceased friend (guitarist Piotr Grudziński died in 2016), went through mourning and started a new chapter in their career. The characteristic "riversid" rock and metal mish-mash, to which Riverside managed to get us used to over the years, appears here in a refreshed and extremely dynamic formula. Varsovians on "ID.Entity" sound more confident than ever before. A great merit of this is also the concept itself and the text layer.
"ID.Entity" is the first material recorded in the new line-up, with guitarist Maciej Meller, who has been an official member of the Riverside band since 2020. Meller fits into the stylistic framework of the band, emphasizing both the characteristic "riverside licks" and adding his own character of playing the instrument.
It is also the first album in the band's career, whose graphic design is the responsibility of the Polish artist Jarek Kubicki, who found himself perfectly in the visual version presented so far by the band.
The material was recorded and mixed this time in two recording studios - The Boogie Town Studio in Otwock under the supervision of Paweł Marciniak and in Warsaw's Serakos Studio under the supervision of Magda and Robert Srzednicki. Mastering was handled by Robert Szydło, who collaborated with the band on concert recordings. This time Mariusz Duda himself took care of the production.
Is it possible to be yourself today without being interested in what is happening in the world? Is it possible to live among people without being interested in social changes that are taking place at an ever-accelerating pace? Riverside on their latest album says that it is not possible. And he emphasizes that to survive these difficult times, we need self-awareness, empathy, community, and both the support of the other person and cutting off from everyone who let venom into our lives, divide us and antagonize us. Many of the important issues raised on the latest album make "ID.Entity" not only a solid musical and lyrical start to Riverside's third decade of activity, but also one of the most important albums in the band's entire career.
