Carmen Maki & Oz-Tozasareta Machi (JAPANESE KITTY ) 1976 OBI +INSERT M-/M- 40
You have to love progressive rock a formal chouïa and heavy acid guitars to fully enjoy this second collaboration between Oz and the burning Carmen Maki, a kind of Janis Joplin of the rising sun. If Kitty Records is not the most prolific of the Japanese labels, it is clear that this record is a semi-success that manages to highlight the charm of the pure rock 'n roll voice of the singer (despite mannerisms a little annoying) without sacrificing instrumentations that give well fishing. We are far from the masterpiece; after all, many prefer the album recorded with Blues Creation five years earlier, but I don't see much to complain about the music itself, whose bluesy or even garage rock spirit does not prevent it from timidly evoking King Crimson – especially in the use of percussion keyboards from the intro. The ballads are of course about love, but the heavy and crazy riffs like that of "Closed City" really add a lot of punch to the whole. rack listing A1 Introduction2:02 A2 崩壊の前日 (Hōkai no Zenjitsu)4:36 A3 振り子のない時計 (Furiko no Nai Tokei)6:30 A4 火の鳥 (Hi no Tori)7:08 B1 Lost Love9:31 B2 閉ざされた町 (Tozasareta Machi)10:11 B3 Epilogue1:31 Total length: 41:29
