TALKING HEADS SPEAKING IN TONGUES SIRE (1983) LIMITED EDITION CLEAR VINYL ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG PACKAGE DESIGN Very nice copy of this now scarce limited edition 1983 clear vinyl record of the Speaking In Tongues album by the Talkingheads. Pop art icon Robert Rauschenberg designed the packaging -- it's a clear vinyl with three paper inserts of differing primary colors, all contained in a clear plastic blister pak. When the papers are turned, an infinite kaleidoscopic array of imagery, shapes, forms, and combinations are had. The outer blister is yellowed as all of them have due to its chemical composition, but this appears to be an absolutely amazing copy -- the papers are all in wonderful shape and the vinyl looks wonderful too. We unsnapped the outside of the blister pak on the one edge to look, but we did not unsnap the middle spindle because we couldn't tell if it had ever been opened before and out of caution we decided not to open it.
