It took time for Cartola to release his first album, the same name, which hit stores in 1974, on the Marcus Pereira record label. Just as it is impossible to talk about samba without mentioning his name, it is unthinkable to talk about the national discography without mentioning his albums. One of the founders of Estação Primeira de Mangueira, the composer, singer and musician marked the history of national music and is still a great reference. And it is his first album that Polysom brings back to stores, on 180-gram vinyl, through the Classics on Vinyl collection.   The album was produced by jc Botezelli (Pelão), with arrangements by Horondino José da Silva (Dino), who also plays the 7-string guitar. The album features 12 tracks, all written by Cartola, some with partners such as Carlos Cachaça, Dalmo Castelli, Elton Medeiros and Nuno Veloso. Among them are Happen, Alvorada, Tive Sim and O Sol Nascerá.
