One of the rarest of all US Beatles pressings, here’s a really nice copy of the rare 1971 US pressing of Revolver (ST-2576) on the RED Capitol label.

Not to be confused with the much more common Canadian red Capitol label, this US issue was pressed at Capitol’s Winchester pressing plant, as evidenced by the hand-etched symbol in the trail-off area (--◄). Very few copies are known to exist, especially in this condition.

The matrix numbers (also hand-etched) are:

Side 1: ST-1-2576-W13

Side 2: ST-2-2576-X10

Capitol changed to this red label design right around the time its entire Beatles catalog was changing over to the Apple label. Only Revolver and Yesterday and Today were pressed on the red label, both in extremely limited quantities before their transition to the Apple label pressings.

CONDITION:

VINYL: Please note that I use visual grading only - visually, the vinyl is a very nice, solid VG+. Viewed/examined under direct light, several slight scuffs and very light scratches are visible. Nothing deep or major, and the vinyl still has a beautiful luster. Looking at it under overhead light, many (if not most) would probably call it VG++.

LABELS: Beautiful, flawless Near Mint (NM) on both sides. No writing, stains, scuffs or flaws of any kind. And no wear around the spindle hole, which confirms that this record was handled carefully and likely played very little.

COVER: Minimal light wear at the top center of the back cover only. No seam splits and all four corners are square. The number “188” was written in black marker on the upper left of the back cover. The placement of the front and back slicks was a little off at the factory - the front slick was pasted on a little lower than normal. The back slick is slightly angled, with a small area at the bottom that clearly wasn’t glued (which thankfully didn’t cause any tears or damage). It’s a beautiful cover, easily NM if not for the number written on the back - for that reason only, I’m downgrading it to VG++.

Overall, a super-nice copy of an extremely rare US pressing. Please let me know If you have questions or would like any other specific pictures.

ABOUT ME...

I was a serious Beatles collector for many years, and very picky about condition. So I grade carefully and accurately, I pack each item extremely well (just as I’d want to receive it) and I ship quickly (typically next business day after receiving payment).

Domestic shipping via USPS Media Mail (Sorry, I only ship to the lower 48 states). I’m happy to combine shipping upon request.
