Notes 1st press USA issue, with 'smoke logo' & 'Straight' black liner bearing the 'Bizarre' address - which is also on the radius text of the 'Straight' vinyl labels. [It should be noted that reissues, or 'repros' of this issue label often carry the later Warner address].
This is a Straight issue, under the short-lived Bizarre Inc distribution aegis of Reprise.

This version pressed at , as indicated by the 'S' in the matrix strings.

This original issue includes a heavyweight white card 4-page insert [28cm x 28cm when folded]. No print on front or back, but a full track-list with lyrics on inside spread, together with artist credits.

The track-list on the insert follows the presentation as per the vinyl, up to 'Smithsonian'. An additional set of lyrics [or a poem?] is then inserted, titled; "You Should Know By The Kindness Of Uh Dog The Way Uh Human Should Be". This is then followed by the lyrics for 'Clouds' & 'Flash Gordon' tracks respectively. A further 'poem' is then inserted; "(Untitled)", which begins "The first scene was the bathtub ring...", which is then finally followed with the lyrics for "Space Age Couple" - which is not the last track on the vinyl.

It is conjecture that this may have been the intended running order, or simply a whim in the printed transcription of the final content. See images for the 2 additions.
[On lyrics sheet];

The back-cover imprint of this 1st issue has subtle differences in content to later issues [see images]; e.g. Relationship of text lengths, a full point after "Calif." and "Made in U.S.A."

Hard To Find In This 1970 Original US Vintage Vinyl Edition !!!

Vinyl Is In Very Good Plus Condition. (there is some very minor general age related wear - there are two medium size scratches, one on side one, and one on side two, but they are not really deep - there are a few very small and very light surface scratches on the vinyl (but nothing deep) - there are a few very small & light rubbing / scuffing marks on the vinyl, this is probably from decades of living is a really cheap paper inner sleeve)

Cover Is In Very Good Plus Condition. (there is some minor general age related wear - there is some minor edge wear - there is some very minor ring wear)

The Original Inner Sleeve Is Missing.

This Is A Great Find for the   Captain Beefheart   Fan or Collector!

Please note: All of the items that I sell are from my own personal collection.

This is a large collection (that I have maintained and added to for well over 40 years),

that I am now divesting, due to mounting medical bills.

I, am not a store, or a business.

I am a private collector, selling off large parts of my personal collection.

Please Note: Despite a major surgery that I had a while ago, I am still dealing

with a lot of extreme complications and chronic disability.

As a result, this sometimes gets in the way of my e-baying.

So, if my turn around time takes a lot longer then most sellers,

(I have a 30 day shipping window) I really do apologize in advance.

I know it is a (potentially) long delivery window,

and you may want to consider this before bidding.

Also, I always ship items in proper shipping packaging, with padding

or packing peanuts or cardboard bracing as needed. I use whatever is

required in order to try and get it safely through the worldwide mail

systems. As a result, there is a small (cost) fee for the packaging materials

that I get from Box City, in order to safely ship the items.

Also, please understand this in advance, I use the e-bay calculator to

figure out postage. Sometimes, it is wrong, and presents a cost that is

higher then the actual cost at the post office. If and when this is the case,

I always refund the difference.

Please Note: Overseas Packages that go through the Customs system,

can take up to 4 to 6 weeks to Process and Deliver, This IS Normal.

For Russia and the Middle East, this can take even longer and is

completely out of my control, so please be patient.

Many Thanks.
