Pendulum is different. It seems way more cohesive to these ears, like a concerted effort to really define the band's sound. "Hey Tonight" and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" stick out of course, but both are symptomatic of the shift towards the band trying to sound less like they just fell off the back of a moonshine wagon, and more like a band that's actually from San Francisco. It's a more mature, more soulful record, and perhaps a last gasp at harmony before the shit hit the fan.
