Four classic records from one of my favorite Progressive Rock bands, Gentle Giant. Three of these were rated “Exceptionally Clean” independently of myself by Jerry’s Records. The fourth (S/T) came from elsewhere, but is in similarly great condition, except for a brown smudge on the back cover. Honestly this appears to be just part of the art from inspecting it, but I’m not seeing it on others’ pictures. All stickers are on the plastic sleeve and not the jacket itself. So I’d say these are all in the Very Good+ range, with Free Hand being Very Good for the cover and Good for the vinyl itself.
Blemishes: 1. Brown smudge on reverse of “Gentle Giant” album cover 2. White streak on vinyl surface of side 2 of The Power and the Glory. I tested it on my record player and didn’t notice any skipping or weirdness 3. Scratch on Free Hand side 1, on Just the Same and On Reflection. This one does cause a slight pop during playback when listened to on my Portapros
That covers it to the best of my (and Jerry’s Records, I suppose) abilities. These are great albums in great quality, with few notable blemishes. The main thing I noticed with these when listening to them was how fantastic these sound. These are really great, bright, quirky and TRULY progressive rock albums. Few bands could make such bizarre arrangements sound so catchy and effortless. Gentle Giant are simply one of the best—ever.
