RECORD GRADING SYSTEM

 

MINT (M) / STILL SEALED (SS) = Absolutely perfect in every way, certainly never played, possibly even still sealed.

COVER (M)/(SS) = Flawless, no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable defects. 

NEAR MINT (NM)/(M-) = A near perfect record, has no obvious signs of wear.  Basically looks as if you just got it home from the record store and removed the shrink wrap. May have a barely visible scuff or two from removing record from the paper sleeve.

COVER (NM)/(M-) = Some slight wear, almost invisible ring wear, lightly turned up corners, no seam splits. Possible promo corner cut or hole punch, will specify if visible.   

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) / EXCELLENT (E) = Shows some signs of wear that it has been played, but carefully handled. Slight scuffs, warps or very light scratches that do not effect the play of the record.

COVER (VG+)/(E) = Some visible wear, slight ring wear, corner creases, and minor seam splits. May have small name, bpm markings, promo corner cut or hole punch, will specify if visible.   

VERY GOOD (VG) = Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches that will affect the sound slightly. Great for a back-up copy.

COVER (VG) = Obvious visual wear, noticeable seam splits, minor discoloration, name or bpm markings, masking or duct tape seam repairs, not all flaws will apply.

GOOD (G) / GOOD PLUS (G+) = Good does not mean bad! Record can be put on a turntable and play through without skipping. But will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear. Only recommended to fill space in your collection until a better copy comes along.

COVER (G)/(G+) = Ring wear to the point of distraction, has seam splits obvious on sight and has even heavier writing, major discoloration and masking or duct tape seam repairs. Not all flaws will apply 

POOR (P) / FAIR (F) = Records is cracked, badly warped, and won't play through without skipping or repeating.

COVER (P)/(F) = Major seam splits at the bottom or on the spine. Major tape, writing, ring wear and other defects that may start to overwhelm the record.

We ship all records 2-3 times a week via United States Postal Service (U.S.P.S) only, records are shipped normally on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday depending on the number of orders pending. Any other special shipping arrangements will be paid by the buyer and must be e-mailed for confirmation.
