The Ventures In Space, instrumental guitar rock, great laminated sleeve Front Cover Rear Cover     The Ventures
The Ventures In Space         Liberty - SLBY 1189 - STEREO - LP - 1964

Glossy front laminated flipback picture sleeve. KT embossed label with some spindle marking. Plain white inner has a couple of two inch edge splits - EX/EX

Its outer packaging is in good condition, it is a great copy that plays really well, the treble is crisp, the bass is full. Sounds great on the stereogram that I use to assess the surface condition.

Please bear in mind that these pictures are the actual item that you will receive if your bid is successful. No stock photos means no surprises.     Little or no ageing, creasing or wear on the spine

The vinyl is clean and sparkling, there is evidence of spindle rubbing, the audio quality is good.

The inner white paper sleeve is in good condition, but has a couple of 2” (50mm) splits on two of the edges. Other than that it’s in good condition.

The matrix stamps are SLBY 1189 A - 1 and SLBY 1189 B - 1 respectively.

I use the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide, shown below for your reference, for grading the sleeve and vinyl separately. Sturdy thick card mailers are used for each single/double album. Multiple albums are boxed and bubble wrapped.

Record Collector's Grading System

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover or any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packing might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite notable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection filler.
