Records are “sandwiched” between 200# test cardboard pads, surrounded by packing peanuts,  and shipped in a commercial 200# test cardboard  mailer box.

All records are graded visually and aurally using the grading standard table below.

      78 RPM RECORD GRADING

M-   Mint Minus

Near mint (NM); minor vinyl markings, if any; label clean with very minor or no visible wear or imperfections.  Vinyl gloss is full.  May have a spindle mark or two.  Your “booming mono” grade.  Sounds Great!

VG+  Very Good Plus

Record would be close to M- except for a few light scuffs or a light scratch or two; labels may show some minor wear and may have WOL or SOL; record may have minimal surface noise that does not distract from the sound.  Vinyl gloss is close to high.  Sounds Great!

VG    Very Good

Any record imperfections listed above are more pronounced, but record is still collectable and plays through without skipping; audible clicks and pops, if any, will be minimal; any surface noise will be minimal and well below music level; label wear, if any, is noticeable.  May have low gloss.  

G      Good

Label will show considerable wear and may have a tear, WOL, SOL and center hole damage; vinyl has numerous scruff lines and scratches that are audible yet the disc plays through OK.
