This is the original deep-groove pressing of Al Grey “The Last of the Big Plungers” on the black and silver labels of Argo 653. The playing surface is nearly immaculate, with a high luster; perhaps played once. Similarly, the cover is amazingly bright and clean, with normal light rubbing along the bottom seam and 1/8” wear at the corner.
Personnel include Joe Newman, Billy Mitchell, Benny Powell, Ed Jones, and Sonny Payne.
