ULTRA RARE "ORIGINAL ORIGINAL" * NEW * FACTORY SEALED * CAREFULLY MAINTAINED by a VINYL GEEK (me)
This is the original first pressing of Dark Side of the Moon on JVC SuperVinyl, released late 1978. MFSL had just moved headquarters to Chadsworth, CA and had already pressed three critically acclaimed half-speed masters using SuperVinyl. Then this blockbuster hit the shelves and MFSL was on the maps!
From Wikipedia: Early MFSL titles were pressed by in Japan on virgin "SuperVinyl". JVC originally developed this proprietary plastic compound in the early 1970s to reduce record wear on discreet CD-4 LP records which were introduced in 1972. Supervinyl is a harder and more durable vinyl than traditional formulas. These pressings exhibit a very low surface noise, as well as fewer pops and clicks. Supervinyl remains a proprietary JVC technology and production of this material was discontinued in the late 1980s.
