STEELY DAN: ‎3 LP Lot – PRETZEL LOGIC + GAUCHO + GOLD

Up for purchase are three classic albums by STEELY DAN‎: (1) PRETZEL LOGIC; (2) GAUCHO and (3) GOLD. These records are pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was generally used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording! All three of these LPs are out of print and getting harder to find, especially in this condition!

(1) PRETZEL LOGIC, MCA Records, ‎ MCA-37042, 1980 (originally released 1974). Engineered by Roger "The Immortal" Nichols at the Village Recorder. Pretzel Logic is the third studio album by the American rock band Steely Dan. It was written by principal band members Walter Becker and Donald Fagen and recorded at The Village Recorder in West Los Angeles with producer Gary Katz and prominent Los Angeles-based studio musicians. (2) GAUCHO, MCA Records, ‎ MCA-1693, 1980. The front cover has a gold stamp "MCA 1693" on the top right and a "Super Stars at Super Savings" seal printed on top left. Mastered at MASTERDISC, N.Y.C., by Bob Ludwig, as evidenced by the initials "RL" etched in the Dead wax next to the stamp "MASTERDISK". Gaucho is Steely Dan's seventh studio album. To record the album, the band used at least 42 different musicians, spent over a year in the studio, and far exceeded the original monetary advance given by the record label. Gaucho proved to be Steely Dan's final studio album before a 12-year absence from the recording industry. TRACK LISTING: Side A. Babylon Sisters, Hey Nineteen, Glamour Profession; Side B. (3) GOLD, MCA Records, MCA-5324, 1982. Mastered at MASTERDISC, N.Y.C., by Bob Ludwig. Gold is a compilation album by Steely Dan, mostly comprising hits both post-dating and not included on their 1978 Greatest Hits, essentially acting as "Volume 2". It also features additional album tracks, offering a broad perspective on the band's career to that point. Seven of the tracks are from five of the band's albums from 1973 to 1980; it also includes the non-album single "FM (No Static at All)" (from the soundtrack to the 1978 film FM). .TRACK LISTING: Side 1. Hey Nineteen, Green Earrings, Deacon Blues, Chain Lightning; Side 2: FM, Black Cow, King of the World, Babylon Sisters.

These three albums are in very good+ condition with only a few superficial cosmetic marks that won't affect play. The vinyl still has all the shine and luster of new, and the labels are clean with no stickers or damage. The album covers are also in very good+ condition, maybe even near mint, with some very minor shelf wear and only the slightest trace of ringwear. There are no splits, tears, holes or writing. The inner sleeves are in pretty good condition, having some splits and creases. See photos for details.
