Description: Original 1° pressing and very rare italian-only library by Piero Umiliani under one of his alias ROVI supported by an obscure studio band musicians The soundwork-shoppers. Issue on his own label Sound Work Shop in only 300 copies according to Umiliani press officer and Liuto label manager Francesco Argento. Never commercially available and distributed to RAI technicians as music backgroud for TV news reports. Stunning album concept and, as the title promise, one of the funkiest Umiliani recording. A must have for every funk record collector because it’s a fine example of private funk / disco that comes out of Italy and completely different from US disco funk style. Not a wicked track here: "Optimist", "Hobby", "Odeon", "Skypass", “Impact” (definitively for me the best track of this album, I suggest to set the pitch at -0,5/-1,0 to let the groove being smooth hypnotic and fatter!), "Happy end” are example of the ability to mix funk rhythm with heavy orchestration and electronic FX. “Discomusic” was also the main theme of 90° Minuto TV show about soccer. No informations around this obscure studio backing band but most probably: Cicci Santucci (tr), Enzo Scoppa (tenor sax), Gegè Munari (drums), Bruno Tommaso (db), Antonello Vannucchi (fender piano). Beautiful cover design artwork (different from the latest reissue) by Sandro Lodolo. Very very Rare!!
