On SOULAR ENERGY, he steps out on his own and generates some relaxed yet swinging (of course!) mainstream jazz (almost all tunes are familiar standards), featuring the soul-jazz piano stylings of Gene Harris, the bluesy big-toned sax of Red Holloway, and the clean, Wes-and-Grant-style guitar of Emily Remler.
