KHAN - SPACE SHANTY (1972)
Original and only LP from Khan - a Progressive Rock group of the Canterbury Scene .
"Space Shanty is ranked number 70 on the Prog Archives Top Studio Albums of All-Time ."
"Space Shanty is the debut and only album by the short-lived band . 's first solo album, , included material originally intended for the second album by Khan, but the band split up before that was a possibility ."
The band featured Steve Hillage (of Gong) , and (the "real") Dave Stewart (of Egg and Hatfield And The North ) .
The music could be described as space rock with melodic songs , with plenty of guitar/organ interplay .
Condition .
The LP is over 40 years old and I haven't played it for years due to not now having a turntable .
The cover is fairly scuffed , with a 1" tear on the back - as in photo 2 .
The inner sleeve is torn a little at the opening .
The vinyl has marks on both sides with some light scratches . I am not a record expert , but I would possibly call the grading between VG and G .
As well as the ZAL-11366/67.P-1W on the vinyl , there is also JT marked n Side 2 above the label .
[ Sorry about the photos - they were taken on my very old Fuji 2.3M camera . ]
