Compiled by Northern Soul authority Richard Searling, this essential 7” vinyl selection taken from the famous Capitol Records and its spin off labels Tower and Uptown, brings together 14 in-demand and “rare as hen’s teeth” Northern Soul singles that would sit proudly on any self-respecting soul DJ’s ‘must-have’ list.

Spanning the years 1965-1969, the Capitol Northern Soul 7’s Box Set brings together offerings from some well-known names and others that time seemingly forgot. It includes a first time anywhere in the world vinyl issue for Alexander Patton’s ‘(True Love Is) In The Heart’, first time UK 7” pressings of Doris Troy’s ‘Face Up To The Truth’ and Jay D Martin’s ‘By Yourself’. The Outsider’s ‘Lonely Man’ is being issued here legally for the very first time whilst there is also a first time 7” appearance for The Magnificent Men’s ‘Keep on Climbin’, a storming 60s dancer which had previously only existed as an album cut and was just begging to be pressed as a 7”. It sounds mint.
