The Doors self titled debut LP original 1967 Elektra EKS-74004 stereo.
I purchased this record in 1967 and it is from my personal collection. It is not a reissue although it is a later release with the RIAA gold record award on the cover; I acquired this while working in a record store in 1967.
The jacket is in "NM-" condition with only the faintest ringwear; no edgewear, seam splits, writing or cutout holes (see photos). All of my albums are stored in heavy gauge vinyl outer sleeves.
The vinyl is in "NM" condition; matrix numbers are EKS-74007-A (A) and EKS-74007-B (A); "ARC" is etched in the deadwax indicating pressing at Allentown Record Corp.; the record has been stored in a poly lined sleeve since purchase.
Vinyl grading is conservative and based on the following criteria:
“SS” Still Sealed – For the collector that demands nothing but perfection.
“M” Mint - a near perfect or unplayed record.
“NM” Near Mint - in factory fresh condition, like new.
“EX+” close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Will satisfy all but the most vain and demanding collector.
“EX” a used, reasonable copy. Shows slight signs of wear.
“VG+” There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility a few skuffs and/or light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
