The labels
Black and Yellow Parlophone in design with "The Parlophone Co Ltd" perimeter text.
As this is an original 1963 second pressing there is no Sold in the UK text across the centre of the label.
Clearly readable silver text with no blemishes or fading striking yellow Parlophone logo with some light wear around the very edge of the spindle hole but no marks to the labels indicating little play.
Matrix numbers
The matrix numbers on both sides finish -1 indicating that this copy was among the first pressed:
Side One XEX 421-1N
Side Two XEX 422-1N
The Vinyl
The vinyl is in great condition with just a few light harilines or paper scuffs on close inspection but with no scratches or audible marks retaining its original shine despite being well over 40 years old. This is highly unusual as many copies of this album were played excessively at parties during the 60s and many became damaged or badly scratched.
The Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated picture sleeve has the large block mono logo on the front and photo Angus McBean credit in bottom right hand corner. Just minor lift and minor paper loss to the corner of the top flipback can be seen through storage this being the only obvious sign of wear with the bottom flipback remaining fully intact and the spine undamaged. There are otherwise just a few minor marks to the unlaminated back cover but these do not detract from the overall carefully looked after condition of this item. With correct original emitex inner.
A nice one owner copy at a fantastic price !
