Vinyl Grading and Methodology

It’s difficult to hold to a strict Goldmine standard on eBay because people think a VG+ isn’t going to sound good.  Of course this isn’t true of that standard strictly applied.

I don’t think the Goldmine system allows for enough variation so I am using my own system.

This is for the vinyl only

(New)    Still in shrink and unopened

(NM/Mint-)         Opened but looks new

(Ex+)    Some surface markings that do not effect play.  Markings from the sleeve, etc.

(Ex)      Essentially similar to the previous however a bit more numerous markings, perhaps some intermittent vinyl noise but below the threshold of the music.  There is little to no impact on the experience.

(VG+)  This is where we enter some more sustained surface noise, but mild.  There can be some clicks and even maybe a pop.  The vinyl is still very enjoyable but it’s got some wear.

(VG)     The vinyl has some sustained surface noise and it is more pronounced.  Vinyl can still be enjoyable at this level but it’s going to have more imperfections.  No skips or jumps of any kind, however.

(VG-)    There could be a skip or a jump.  They will be noted if I actually sell anything at this level.

How I Determine Value?

I do research on every title and what the going value is for comparable graded vinyl.

Sometimes this is good or bad for me depending upon what I paid for the vinyl.

However, my goal is not to set a value for people to haggle from.

My goal is to set a value that is fair and market based.

I take pride in the vinyl that I have collected over the years and the vast majority of it is NM.

That being said not every customer will be satisfied, thus I do accept returns.

Shipping

All records are shipped outside the cover to prevent damage.

Records are also carefully packaged to ensure that they are not damaged in transit.

If you desire to upgrade shipping please let me know.

Returns

When purchasing you are agreeing to my grading system, not your own.  So if VG+ means something different I certainly understand, however, don’t purchase expecting your VG+ to equal mine.

Do not attempt to get me to give you a partial refund after the purchase and delivery of item for any reason whatsoever.

Returns up to 14 days are accepted and refunds are given, however, the product must arrive in the condition I sent it.

I want you to be satisfied and I don’t wish to have negative feedback so I will ensure a money back guarantee.
