AN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL 1st PRESSING!

UP FOR BID IS AN ORIGINAL MONO 1st PRESSING OF BOB DYLAN'S SELF TITLED 1962 RELEASE

Surprisingly, the record has its original lustre and shine and displays the "two eyed" version of the Columbia label which has several different variations. There are NO scratches on either side. The record play back was excellent with no bumps, repeats, or skips, and, sounded great.

There is no ink or writing on the labels and they are fully intact.

The inner sleeve is a new clean generic plastic.

The record sleeve, as can be seen in the photos, is in excellent condition.  There are no cuts, scrapes, creases, or splits.  The edges and spine are fully intact and the writing on the spine is clearly legible. There is minor edge wear, just enough to take some of the ink off of the corners. The corners show only minor wear.

Importantly, the record and sleeve have several different and interesting 1st pressing anomalies. First, on the cover of the sleeve, Dylan's full right index finger is shown. In subsequent pressings, the end of his finger is off of the picture. Additionally, on the cover of first pressings, there is only one tuning peg on Dylan's guitar. Later pressings show 3 pegs. Also, on the front and back of the record sleeve, the first track is listed as "You're No Good." On the Side One label, the first track is listed as "She's No Good." On subsequent pressings this has been corrected. The first pressing also had only one track listed above the spindle hole. Later pressings had several variations. On the back sleeve, in the lower right corner, is printed the number 4. The "4" indicates that the sleeve was fabricated by Imperial Packing Co., Inc. of Indianapolis, IN. Variations of this are the numbers "2" and "8", on later pressings.*

As shown in the photo with the two arrows, and very difficult to photograph, are several areas on the record that appear to be shadows of something that may have dropped onto the surface. It has no effect whatsoever on the playback of the record.

All in all, for a 54 year old record, this is a beautiful record album and sleeve!
