The trilogy of albums Grace recorded for Island at Compass Point studios in Nassau in the Bahamas in the early ‘80s are rightly regarded as three of that decade’s most essential records. Mixing icy new wave sensibilities with the poise and distance of high fashion and the depth, groove and warmth of dub reggae, ‘Private Life’ is actually a cover of a Chrissie Hynde-penned original from The Pretenders’ debut album. Meanwhile, the flip carries an insane reinterpretation of one of Joy Division’s darkest moments. Originally released in 1980 this double-header of extended club versions makes a welcome return to vinyl for Record Store Day, 2016.

I grade the records visually but strictly. Gradings are according to UK Record Collector's magazine grading system. The standard condition categories and a description of what each ones means are listed below. Please take a look.

MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or detorioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. Thanks for looking! Please see my other auctions too!
